About Us

Founded in 1997, TriCare, PA is a mental and behavioral health practice in Winston-Salem that is convenient to most everywhere in the Triad and surrounding areas. It provides psychological services for children and adolescents.

After more than 30 years of practicing with a group of providers, TriCare owner Dr. Chris Sheaffer has opted to go solo for his practice starting in June 2023. He still provides the same caring service he always has.

None of the other previous providers is still associated with TriCare.

Current services include psychological and psychoeducational evaluation and diagnosis for children, as well as parenting capacity and family evaluations for selected counties in North Carolina.

Please Note: TriCare is a private mental health services company and is not associated with the federal armed services dependents’ program of a similar name. We apologize for any confusion this may cause — we had the name first!

TriCare participates in a limited number of managed care programs and is not an EAP provider.
